Meet Our Staff

Pastor Gary Weston entered the pastorate in 1983 after a business career and brings "real world" experience to his leadership of the church.

His philosophy as a pastor is to inspire members to lead more Christian lives and to learn how to use the Bible to help them through their everyday struggles.

"It is gratifying to hear members say that my sermons uplift, recharge and rejuvinate them so that they can face their week with a new perspective that reflects the teachings of Christ.

Pastor Gary and his lovely wife, Bev, are both natives of the Pittsburgh area and currently reside in Adams Township.  They have four children and six grandchildren.  Bev teaches at Dorseyville Middle School and is an avid jogger.  Within the church she enjoys playing the piano and teaching Sunday School.

Jean Smith, Parish Associate

 Rev. Jean Smith has served several churches in the area since her ordination in 1998.  She holds a B.S. Degree in Education from Miami University, a Masters in Counseling from Wright State University and a Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary.  Jean shares responsibility for preaching, teaching and pastoral care, with a special emphasis on junior and senior high youth.  Her passion is to share Christ with the next generation and help others to grow spiritually.  She also participates in VPC's Praise Team as a guitarist and vocalist.  Jean resides in Mars with her husband, Paul, who taught at Mars High School for 36 years before retiring.

Angie is responsible for overseeing Children's Church, as well as directing our other Children Ministries, providing direction and resources for the Mom's Morning Out and Parent's Night Out and directing Vacation Bible School in the summer.  Angie is a teacher by training with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, a Masters in Early Childhood Development from Piedmont College, and four years experience as an elementary school teacher in Dallas, Georgia.  Angie has been a member of Valencia Presbyterian Church since 2003.  She and her husband, Jason, have two children and reside in Butler.

Denise Smith, Secretary

Denise joined the VPC staff in 2005 after 15 years in the insurance industry as a computer support representative.  She resides in Valencia with her husband, Dale and daughter, Audrey.

Lil Winning, Treasurer

Lil has been on the VPC staff for over ten years.  She is a retired administrative secretary for the Mars Area School District, where she worked for twenty-two years. She has been a loyal volunteer for South Butler Community Meals on Wheels, and is currently their treasurer.  Lil also is the pianist for the VPC church services held at Fosnight Personal Care Home and Valencia Woods.  Lil taught Sunday School for many years and is an ordained elder of the church. Lil resides in Butler with her husband, Hugh.  They have three children and seven grandchildren.

Nichole Fromlak, Nursery Director

Nichole joined the VPC Nursery Staff in May 2006.  She has an Associate Degree in Child Development and previously worked as a nanny and as a Group & Assistant Group Supervisor at a children's center.  Nichole resides in Mars with her husband, Chris and children, Ashleigh and Gabriella.

Donna Dreveniak, Nursery Assistant

Donna joined the VPC Nursery Staff in February 2007.  She also serves as the inside custodian at the church.  She resides in Wexford and also works at Curves.

Nancy Shattuck, Nursery Assistant

Nancy has been a Nursery Staff member at VPC for over 10 years.  She resides in Mars and has two children and 7 grandchildren, not to mention the many children she has formed close relationships with through the VPC children's ministry programs.  In addition, Nancy provides childcare to several families in our community.
